Hannah Elliot was born in 1803, the daughter of John Elliot and Elsie Dodge.
Hannah married David Magoon in 1820.[1][2] The marriage records indicate they were both from the town of Stanstead in Lower Canada. David's brother Jeremiah married Hannah's sister Olive Elliot.
By 1842, the couple had settled across the lake in Potton Township. The 1842 census entry shows a household of 10 people.[3] Living right next door to them was David's sister Polly Elliot, then a widow.
On the 1871 census, David and Hannah continued to live in Potton, next door to their son John, his wife Melissa and several children.[4]
Hannah lost her husband in the year of 1877. She would live 11 years beyond him. In 1881, she appeared on the Potton census, living with her son John, his wife Melissa, and their children.[5]
Hannah passed away in 1888,[6] and was interred in Owl's Head Cemetery beside her husband.[7]
