James, born in 1773,[1] emigrated from Scotland to Scarborough Township, Upper Canada. He married Janet Thomson in 1802 at St. James in York, Upper Canada.[2] James died in 1849 and is buried in the St. Andrew's Bendale Cemetery, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.[3]
