Biography

Charles was the child of Amos Elliott's first wife (possibly Margaret Merrill).

Notes

Year of birth estimated from 1830 Census[1] and birth order as listed in Amos Elliott's will. Amos's will[2] states that Charles died before recording of the will.

"Heritage of Tippah County, Mississippi[3]" reports that his name was Charles Henderson Elliott and that he was born in Greensboro, Hale, Alabama. It reports he was a county judge in Oktibbeha County in 1833. Apparently, Rootsweb has info about death date; by 1840, according to the US Census, his wife Elizabeth was the head of the household. I am using his middle initial rather than the full name Henderson because I cannot find other evidence of the Henderson name.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Charles by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Charles:

Elliott-15650 and Elliott-9590 appear to represent the same person because: Herb, I believe I gave Charles a middle initial "H" in Elliott-15650; but I have not found evidence of a middle name. Also, I was unable to add Elizabeth Wiseman. I must be doing something wrong. Feel free to call me on my cell phone at 205-401-5280 if I can help in many way. It is so good to find another cousin! My lineage is through Charles' son, William Henry Elliott, and then through William's daughter Lenora Elizabeth Elliott (My Grandmom).
