George was the son of James Elliott and Martha Kearns. He was baptised on 29 October 1865.
George left Ireland and emigrated to America about 1890.
He married Rachel Dickson in April 1893 and was widowed in December that same year. Rachel was 29 when she died in New York and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, New York. She was an immigrant from Ireland, daughter of Thomas Dickson and Margaret Crawford at Cullion, Donegal.
George remarried in 1897 to Annie Brett at Manhattan on 28 April. George was 31 and Annie was single and age 30.
They settled in Hudson, New Jersey where their first child, Martha was born in 1898. Their son George was born about 1900.
George Elliott was employed as a Porter.
He was widowed between 1930 and 1940.
