Dorothy Elliott was born in County Durham, England.

The birth of Dorothy Jane was registered during the third quarter of 1884 in Easington, Durham. According to the GRO Index, her Mother's maiden name was Cairnes.^[1]

Dorothy married George Embleton on 30th January 1902 in Sacriston.^[2]
