Biography
Eliza was born in 1838 in Indiana. She was the daughter of Judge Jehu Tindle Elliott and Hannah Scott Branson.
In 1859 she married John Thornburgh. They had 6 children:
- Fanny Perry Thornburgh 1860–Deceased m. Edward Douglas Parsons, 3 children
- William Elliott Thornburgh 1864–1866 died in infancy
- Helen Mary Thornburgh 1868–1870 died in infancy
- Katherine Thornburgh 1870–1960 m.(1) Ellsworth Dow Mcconnell, 2 sons; (2) James H. Horton
- Carrie Mitchell Thornburgh 1875–1875 died in infancy
- Olive Louise Thornburgh 1880–1954 m. Arthur C. Castle, son John
She passed away in 1912 and is buried at South Mound Cemetery, New Castle, Henry County, Indiana. Her husband passed away in 1917.
