In 1939 the Ellis family lived in 141 Gordon Rd. Ilford but by 1944 had moved to Uphall Rd. Ilford where a Land Mine type bomb killed his daughter Grace Ivy Ellis and seriously wounded his wife Grace Elsie.
He was in the British 8th army 1942-44 and Frank was given leave to go home beacuse this tragic event.
Frank died of Cancer in Brentwood, Essex in 1985.
