Francis (Frank) was born on 24th February 1909 at 95 Lawrence Av. in Manor Park, Ilford, the son of Frank Ellis and Ethal Strange[1]

He was known as Frank and was the son of Frank Ellis and Ethal Strange He married Grace Randall while living at 145 Walton Rd. Manor Park.


In the 1911 census Frank aged 2 is shown living in East Ham, Essex with his parents and older sister. [2]

Frank married Grace Randall on 1st Feb 1930 in Ilford, Essex.[3]

In 1939 the Ellis family lived in 141 Gordon Rd. Ilford but by 1944 had moved to Uphall Rd. Ilford where a Land Mine type bomb killed his daughter Grace Ivy Ellis and seriously wounded his wife Grace Elsie. He was in the British 8th army 1942-44 and Frank was given leave to go home beacuse this tragic event.


Frank died of Cancer in Brentwood, Essex in 1985. [4]
