Biography
Willard was born in 1903. He was the son of Willard Ellis and Josephine Beecher. He passed away about 1990.
Willard Flagg Ellis was born December 8, 1903 in Murphysboro to Willard F. and Josephine Beecher Ellis. His siblings include Alexandra Ellis of Carbondale, Helen Ferrick of Dallas, Carabelle Reynolds of Columbia, and Josephine Bush of Middleton, Wisconsin.
He married Marie Faughn. She survives as do his children, Willard Ellis of Ava, Mary Gray of DeSoto and Helen Stagner of Aurora.
Mr. Ellis formerly operated the Lake Murphysboro concession stand and had also worked in coal mining and for the Illinois Department of Transporation. He was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Ellis died at the age of 83 in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital.
