Philip Ellis served as a private in the Revolution, but this family's story shows the close ties that existed between Yarmouth settlers and their New England relations. He and Rebecca Ellis emigrated to Yarmouth Nova Scotia in 1792[2], where Philip died April 17, 1831[3]
