Biography
Jacob Middleton was born in 1810. He was the son of David Ellis and Ann Middleton. H was a writer of meteorological reports. He passed away in 1880 of '"paralysis of the stomach".
Jacob married Hannah Pryor.
In 1850 he was living with his wife Hannah and their children Joseph, Mary and Ellis in Spring Garden, ward 3, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[1]
The family was still living together in Philadelphia in 1860 and Jacob was working as a grocer, probably with his eldest son Joseph also reported to be a grocer on the 1860 census. [2]
Note that his obituary states that Jacob was born in Philadelphia, although other records show him being born in New Jersey.
