Roy Edward Ellis was born on 13 Aug 1941 in Lansing, Ingham, Michigan, United States, son of Elder Arzo P Ellis (1915 - 1991) and Easeline (Browning) Ellis (~1918 - 1995).
His brother was Lawrence R Ellis (1948 - 1985).
Roy died on 22 Nov 2020 in Lansing aged 79. He is buried in Fort Custer National Cemetery , Augusta, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, USA.

Roy Edward Ellis, 79, of Lansing, Michigan passed peacefully into eternity on November 22, 2020 after a short illness.
Roy was born in Lansing, Michigan to Rev. Arzo and Rev. Easeline Ellis on August 13, 1941.
He worked for 20 years as a corrections officer at Riverside Correctional Facility in Ionia, Michigan. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army at the 130th Station Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany. Roy enjoyed jazz music and was known for his gifted piano playing. He spent many years serving the church worship team using his musical talent for God’s glory. He also loved spending time and sharing a meal with family and friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings: Rufus Ellis, Rev. James Ellis, Joyce Ellis, Stanley Ellis Sr., Barbara Ellis Bradford, Walter Ellis Sr., and Lawrence Ellis.
He is survived by: his six children; his sisters; brother; and a host of grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
