When Mary Ellis was born on April 22, 1794, in Kilburn, Yorkshire, England, her father, Christopher, was 28, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 24. She married Joseph Pearson on August 23, 1817, in her hometown. They had 12 children in 21 years. She died on December 19, 1881, having lived a long life of 87 years.[1]
