My father's surname was Ellis and his great-grandfather had the surname Brown. I have many records of my 2nd great-grandfather.
because my maternal grandparents came from Germany and Slovakia
My grandfather was in the Prussian cavalry until just before WW1. I have his Alien Registration card dated Feb 25, 1918 but don't know how to find U.S. govt. archives relating to it.
My mother's mother was born in Slovakia. I would love to collaborate with anyone researching immigrants from Slovakia.

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

Free Space pages are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom .... They're "anything pages".

Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out our Biography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Hi, Frederick --

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
