DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Ellis-16068 and Ellis-2973 appear to represent the same person because: they share similar vital statistics and the same spouse, Sarah Austin.

Based on sources and information included on profile of John Ellis, it appears he is not the correct father for this John Ellis. Birth/death dates and places, wives, do not match the other John Ellis listed as son of John Ellis, so the two sons are not duplicates. I am removing this John Ellis as son of John Ellis and Susan Unknown.
Based on research and disputed parents and wives of this John, I am disconnecting this line.

Ellis-14754 and Ellis-2973 appear to represent the same person because: Though some work needs to be done to source and confirm the data on both profiles, I do believe they are the same person, despite the differences.

Ellis-2104 and Ellis-9962 do not represent the same person because: The only similarity between the two profiles are the forename & surname both of which are fairly common in the VA & NC areas in the 1700s.Ellis-2104 death is documented several decades before Ellis-9962. He immigrated to Tidewater VA where he married, raised his family & died. Ellis 9962 only shows a death location in south central VA (Lunenburg Co, VA). Many, if not most, early 1700 settlers in that area departed the Tidewater, VA area taking the Old Upper Migratory Trail to cheeperr lands. BOTTOM LINE - These appear to be from two different Ellis lineages.
