Biography

Frank was born about 1898. He was the eldest child of Peter Elm and Caroline Groegler. By age 21, he is listed as working in a coal mine, per the federal census, and is listed as a coal miner up to the 1940 census. By the 1950 census, he is working for a cigar manufacturer. Frank was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Scranton.

Obituary

Frank Elm Dies During Visit Frank Elm, 715 Fig St, died last night in Hackensack, NJ, Hospital, a short time after he was stricken by a heart attack at the home of a niece, Mrs. Anna Fetchman, whom he had beep visiting. Bom in Duryea, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Elm, he worked for the Waitt & Bond Cigar Co. prior to his illness. He was a member of St. Marys Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Thiel; two sons, Earl and Robert, this city; a brother, Andrew, Duryea; two sisters, Margaret, Easton, and Caroline, Niagara Falls, N.Y, and several nieces and nephews.[2]
