James Edward "Ed" Elmore was born on 07 April 1926 in Putnam County, Tennessee. [1] He was the son of John Sanders Elmore and Emma Claudia Adams. He married Ruby A. Reels. He passed away on 18 December 1999 in Crossville, Cumberland County, Tennessee. [2] He was interred in Big Lick Cemetery, Big Lick, Cumberland County, Tennessee. [1]

JAMES "ED" ELMORE

Funeral services for James "Ed" Elmore, 73, of Crossville, who passed away Dec. 18, 1999, were held Dec. 20 from Lantana Grace Baptist Church, with burial in Big Lick Cemetery. Pastor Donnie Bell officiated.

He was born April 7, 1926 in Putnam County, TN. Mr. Elmore was a machinist with the Avery Dennison Corp., and he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Elmore of Crossville; son, James E. Elmore III of Crossville; daughters, Barbara Lowe, Peggy Saulis and Mary Helen Russell, all of Crossville, Bonita Harger of Knoxville, TN, and Margaret Gebhart of Bristol, TN; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Elmore and Jack Elmore, both of Crossville; sisters, Dimple Norris, Mary Edith McNew, and Martha Daves, all of Crossville, Ruth Burgess of Chattanooga, TN, Dorothy Wilbanks of Enon, OH, and Betty Maxwell of Memphis, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Elmore, and sister, Mazell Pruitt.

Pallbearers were Gary Williams, Larry Myers, Bruce Daily, Bill Caruthers, Nathan Miller, Eric Elmore, Michael Kerley and Faron Myles.

Honorary pallbearers were Obie Williams and Doug Pruett.

Memorials may be made to Hospice. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
