Biography
Helena Catharina Dorothea was born in King Williams Town in 1837; she was the daughter of Johannes Martinus Els and Helena Catharina Dorothea Els (born Labuschagne).
She was 18 years old when she married 27-year-old widower Wilhelmus Johannes Nel on 16 Jan 1854 at Somerset, Cape Colony. [1]
