Elswick-123 and Elswick-96 appear to represent the same person because: same name, same date,
I have not thoroughly chased down my Elswick line, but I do have a few notes and Elswick-140 lacks documentation. There is a chance they are the same (6th GGM) for me, and I approach with an open mind. I need to spend some time at our MidContinent Genealogical library.
Elswick-123 and Elswick-140 do not represent the same person because: I find no evidence of a marriage for Elswick-123, other than her marriage to Archibald Thompson in 1760.

Elswick-96 and Elswick-140 appear to represent the same person because: The birth and death date and parents match.
Elswick-179 and Elswick-123 do not represent the same person because: Mary Elswick Thompson did not marry Mr. Matney.
Elswick-123 and Elswick-140 appear to represent the same person because: I believe they are all the same person based in birth, parents and spouse.
