Lois Ely, b. 1751, dau. of Samuel Ely and Hannah Marsh, m. her third cousin, Ezra Selden. Captain Ezra Selden was born at Lyme, Conn., March 23, 1752. He was the eldest son of Ezra Selden and Elizabeth Rogers. He graduated at Yale, 1773, and was a lawyer of considerable repute.
They settled at Lyme, where he raised and commanded a company which served in the army of the Revolution. He was severely wounded at the capture of Stony Point, and died in 1788.
The widow married Rev. Ezra Halleck, of Mattituck, L. I., where she died, and he married again and had other children.
