Giles Sill, b. 29 Aug., 1796, at Lyme. He m. 18 October, 1832, Emmeline Amelia Hoe. He was a merchant, and they settled at Palmyra, N. Y. They removed to New York in 1835, and were living at Brooklyn, N. Y., 1839. Emmeline Amelia Hoe, Brooklyn, N- Y., was b. 1809, dau. of Robert Hoe and Rachel Smith d. 12 April, 1862. They had three children.
1. Mary Elizabeth, b. 15 Aug., 1833, m. 20 June, 1855, Harvey Baxter, of Brooklyn, son of Timothy Baxter and Martha Harvey, and in 1859 had two children, Maria Harvey, b. 25 June, 1856, d. 1857; and Alfred Timothy, b. 9 Oct., 1858.
2. Emmeline Hoe, b. 25 May, 1835, m. 25 June, 1856, William McNaughtan, b. 8 Nov., 1820, son of Alexander McNaughtan and Janet Allen, of Paisley, Scotland, and in 1859 had one son : Ramsay, b. 6 Oct., 1857.
3. Isabella Taylor, b. 9 July, 1843, d. 1875; m. 1864, Robert Hosie.
Giles m. 2nd, 1864, Nancy Comstock, who was b. 1813, dau. of Jeremiah Comstock and Diadamia Williams.
