Biography
Henry Embry was born in 1672 in Ireland or the Virginia Colony.
He was probably born in the Virginia Colony. Henry served in the House of Burgesses from Brunswick County, Virginia, 1736 through 1740.[1]
His will is dated July 14, 1762, and was proved September 26, 1763.[2] His will mentions:
- Martha, his wife
- Mary Embry, his granddaughter (daughter of his son Henry, Jr., who had already passed away)
- Sarah Embry, granddaughter
- Henry Masitt[sic], grandson
- Henry Hewitt, grandson
- Mary Meacit[sic], granddaughter
- Martha Hewitt, granddaughter
- Elizabeth Embry, daughter-in-law
- William Embry, grandson, and his sisters, Ermin, Martha and Elizabeth
