Biography
Sarah Jane Emery was the daughter of Stephen Emery and his first wife Sarah Stowell Emery. She was born in 1815 in Hallowell, Kennebec, Maine when her father was preceptor of Hallowell Academy.
She married Hannibal Hamlin in 1833 and the couple had four children: George, Charles, Cyrus and Sarah Hamlin.
Sarah Jane Hannibal died in 1855 of tuberculosis in Penobscot County, Maine.
Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine
