Biography
Veit was born in 1502 in Esslingen. He was married twice, the name of his first wife and the date and place of the marriage are not known. He married his second wife Elisabeth Sigel in 1541.
He was a protestant pastor in the Duchy of Württemberg, from about 1534 to 1541 in Oberstenfeld, 1541 in Stuttgart, 1548 in Bebenhausen, 1551 Waldenbuch, 1552 Weil im Schönbuch and Waldenbuch again from 1553 to his retirement in 1571. After that he lived with his son-in-law Lukas Osiander in Stuttgart until his death in 1580 there.[1]

This seems to be a conflation of Veit Engel and Elisabeth Sigel's family with a Swiss family. Veit was born in Esslingen, not Essingen, he was widowed when he married Elisabeth in 1541 who most likely died in 1542. He was a protestant pastor in Württemberg.
