Hi Cynthia,

First, condolences on the loss of your family members. I lost my parents in-law, and now that I am doing genealogy, I have more and more questions I wish I could ask.

Next, welcome to WikiTree. Options for getting started:

  • Explore the drop-down menus.
  • Watch the intro WikiTree video.
  • Consider introducing yourself in the Tree House section of G2G.
  • Use the People: Search function to find existing profiles.
  • Ask a Mentor Team member for help with a specific problem.
  • Let me know if you have questions

Glad to have you here!

I am the last surviving member of my immediate family. By default I have become the family archivist and have some records and photographs from both my mother's and father's families. On my mother's side I have an uncle way back who was in the Civil War. On my father's side I am supposedly related to someone who fought in the Revolutionary War. I would like to put the pieces together especially as it pertains to my ancestral uncle for whom our son is named. I agree with the mission and will abide by the rules of Wikitree.
Hi!

I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.

Thanks,

Fred
