When Sarah Ann (Sally) Engler was born on July 8, 1784, in Burlington, New Jersey, her father, David Whitaker Engler, was 26, and her mother, Sarah (Mirach) Engler, was 28. She married William Christmas Jenkins on March 11, 1800, in Rowan County, North Carolina.[1][2] They moved from North Carolina to what is now Butler County, Kentucky, in 1809. She appears on the 1850 Census in Butler County.[3] After her husbands death in 1850, she moved to Logan, Indiana, apparently to live with one of her children (believed to be Nancy from the 1870 Census).[4] She died on February 4, 1877, in Oakland City, Indiana, at the impressive age of 92, and was buried there.[5]
