Research Notes

In Reply to: Charity Matthews by Wanda Fatheree ÙCtabÙDof 6186 I am a descendant of the Charity Matthews you note. Charity Jane English was born in GA and married William Matthews. They moved to Washington Co., MO area about 1806. Their children included Hannah, Hester, Jane, Polly, Sarah, Thomas, Telitha, Louisa, Martha and William. Hannah married Henry Hitt and moved to Washington Co., IL. I do not know the husbands for Hester, Jane, Polly, or Sarah. Thomas married Mary Blocker and stayed in the Cape Girardeau MO area, later Scott, then Bollinger Co., MO. Telitha married John Morgan, and they also moved to Washington Co., IL. Louisa married William Allen, but I don't know where they went. Martha married Hezekiah Price Harris Morgan and also moved to Washington Co., IL. William married Amanda Hardy and moved to the Commerce, Scott Co., MO area. I wonder if one the daughters married a Fatheree -- I had not been able to figure out that name from the census, so I appreciate your insight. I suggest looking in the Cape Girardeau, Washington, Scott, or Bollinger Co., MO areas for any other Fatherees.

Charity was born in 1784. She passed away in 1860.
