NY Overseas Telephone Exchange on Staten Is, NY Military housing at: Norfolk Naval Yard VA., Utica & Syracuse NY Air Fields in WW2 He could handle a work crew and the NY construction unions. We have tapes of his memories of the changes in NYC In 1943/44 he ‘retired ‘ from construction and bought a 100 acre apple orchard (Havenhurst Orchards) in Haddam CT. It was far more work than he could handle. Returned to constructon. Loved poetry. A gentleman. Named for his paternal uncle William English Great grandson William Austin English named for William George English.
