Biography

Sarah was born abt 1820, probably in Islandmagee, County Antrim, Ireland.

She married John McIlwain.[1]

She passed away in 1903 in Millbay, Carnspindle, Islandmagee, aged 83 years, the widow of a sailor. The death was registered by her niece Eliza McIlwain of Millbay who was present at her death. [2] She was buried in the family plot in Ballypriormore Graveyard, Islandmagee.[3]

    Erected by Sarah Mcllwaine in memory of her beloved husband John Mcllwaine who died 9th Augt. 1863 aged 43 years. Also their son Thomas who died at Macouria Creek, Essequibo River, West Indies, 6th June 1882 aged 26 years. Also their daughter Agnes who died in infancy. The above-named Sarah Mcllwaine, died 10th June 1903 aged 83 years. Also their son James who died 28th May 1916 aged 69 years.
