Obituary
Paul W. Ennis, 60, of 1068 Warder St., a New York Central System telegrapher since he moved to Springfield 11 years ago, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in his residence. Although he had been in failing health, his death was unexpected.
Before coming here, Mr. Ennis was a telegrapher for the Union Pacific Railroad at North Platte, Neb. He was a veteran of World Wars I and II and was a member of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers.
He was born Aug. 8, 1896, in Moulton, Ala.
Surviving are Mr. Ennis' widow, Blanche; and a sister, Mrs. Audrey Jones of Moulton.
His body was taken to the O'Brien-Kenney Funeral Home where friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday. Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by the Rev, Peter Menke, assistant pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.[6]
