Zadock Ennis was born abt. 1738 in Somerset Co., Maryland.
He married Abigail Fookes abt. 1773 and they had a daughter Leah in 1774. Abigail died in 1785. Presumably Zadock married again to Elizabeth Unknown.
By 1800 he was living in that part of Somerset which in 1742 had became Worcester Co., Maryland. (Jesse Fookes was next door.)
Image at Ancestry.com for 1800 census is transcribed as Ladock but is clearly Zadock. Image itself has no male over 25 (2 under 15), female 26-44--thus my belief that the census record was inaccurately recorded.
In 1850 a 45 yr. old Zadock is found in 1850 United States Federal Census District 8, Worcester, Maryland; Roll: M432_299; Page: 196B; Image: 71. [database on-line]. Original data: Seventh Census of the United States, 1850; (National Archives Microfilm Publication M432, 1009 rolls); Records of the Bureau of the Census, Record Group 29; National Archives, Washington, D.C. (also in household is Elizabeth age 75, and 2 children: Josephus Enniss 8, Dennis Enniss 25. (No relationships given in 1850 or 1860 censuses).
Was Elizabeth the 2nd wife of Zadock Sr. and had son Zadock Jr. abt 1805?

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Zadock by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with Zadock:
