Biography

Obituary taken from The Edna Sun, December, 1947:

Edna – Priscilla Ann Robinett, 96, of near Bartlett, died at 12:45 p.m. today in the Southeast Kansas hospital in Coffeyville following a lengthy illness.

A pioneer resident of this area, she was born at Green Brier, Va., on July 10, 1857. She married Hiram Robinett in Ohio on Nov. 8, 1876.

They came to Kansas the following year and Mrs. Robinett had lived here ever since with the exception of seven years spent in Oklahoma. Her husband died in 1931.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Bartlett and belonged to the Royal Neighbors lodge at Edna.

Survivors include two sons, A.M. Robinett, Santa Ana, Calif., and S.M. Robinett, Los Angeles; four daughters, Mrs. J.A. Perry, Coffeyville; Mrs. J.W. Bennett and Mrs. T.D. Bickham of Bartlett; and Mrs. V.F. Athon, Yermo, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Athens, Ohio; 56 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Methodist church at Bartlett, Officiating minister will be announced later. Burial will be in the Lake Creek cemetery. The body will be taken to the home from the Goodwin Funeral home in Edna Saturday afternoon.

(Note: Hiram and Priscilla had 11 children: Margaret Jane, Mary Viola, Emma Francis, William Henry, Cara May, Howard Benton, Albert Louis, Charles Oliver Hiram, Franklin Marshall, Orpha and Nancy Ellen.)
