Biography

Mrs. Lizzie E. Swingle passed away Friday morning August 22, 1941 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Ed Wright, Waymart following a lingering illness. Mrs. Swingle was in her seventy-seventh year; born at Gravity and has lived in and around that vicinity all her life. Her husband, Elbert, preceded her in death, 1927. She was a member of the East Canaan Methodist Church. She is survived, in addition to the above named daughter, by the following daughters. Mrs. Lena Beckwith and Mrs. Ruth Beam of Waymart and Mrs. Gertrude Box, South Canaan, aso twelve grandchildren and three great-granddchildren, one sister Mrs. Martha Curtis, Carbondale and two brothers William and Edgar Enslin of Gravity. The funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter Mrs. Ed Wright of Waymart, Monday at two o'clock. Rev. Mr. Klinetob officiating; interment East Canaan cemetery.
