Biography

Charles Ensor is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.

Charles was born 1919 in Gentry, Tennessee.

*5236 CHARLES EUGENE ENSOR 7 (Charles Bradley Ensor 6, William Wirt Ensor 5, William A. Ensor 4, Ruth Jared 3, Joseph 2, John 1) born 20 Dec. 1919; md. Reba Young, dau of Samuel and Virginia (Waller) Young. (Virginia Waller is a daughter of Margaret Ensor).[1]

He attended Baxter Seminary where he was very active in sports.

Around 1940, he left home and went to California, where he lived with his Uncle William Dow Ensor and Aunt Lena Waters Ensor .

He served in the Navy during WWII[2]

He married Reba Nell Young in 1951 in Reno, Nevada.

Charles and Reba resided in El Monte, CA, Columbus, Oh, and Cookeville, TN until finally settling in Una, Nashville, TN.

They were the parents of three children.

Charles and Reba were members of Arlington United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN.

He worked at Avco Aviation and Ford Glass Plant in Nashville, TN.

In 1993 Charles and Reba opened Ensor's Shoes.

Charles passed away in 2009.
