Biography

William married Amy Slyter on 12 October 1841 in Wabash, Indiana. They had 14 children. William died at the age of 78 in University Place, Lancaster, Nebraska. He and Amy are buried in Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska. [1]

In 1850 the Enyeart Family lived in Lagro, Wabash, Indiana. The household included William, 29, a farmer, with $1000 in real estate; his wife Amy, 28; and their five children: Nathan, 7; Joseph L., 6; Margaret, 5; Silas H., 3; and Thomas, 1. Also living with them was Horton H. Slyter, 18, born in Ohio, a farmer with $800 in real estate. Note: Horton was probably a relative of Amy (Slyter) Enyeart, and possibly a partner with William Enyert, co-owning the farm. [2]

In 1860, the Enyeart family lived in La Gro Township, Wabash County, Indiana. The household included William Enyeart, 40, born in Ohio, a farmer, with $3600 in real estate and $800 in personal estate; his wife, Ann (Amy), 38, b. Ohio (neither could read or write); their children, all b. Indiana, all in school, except for the two youngest: Nathan, 16; Ellen, 14; Silas, 12; Thomas, 10; Richard, 8; Eveline, 4; and Rosa, 1.[3]

In 1870 the Enyeart Family lived in Chariton County, Missouri. The household included William, 49, a farmer with $10,600 in real estate and $500 in personal assets; his wife Amy, 48; and their six children: Thomas, 21, a farm laborer; Evaline, 14; Rosetta, 12; Albert, 9; Carrie, 3; and John W. Enyeart, 24, born in Indiana, a farm laborer. [4]
