Herman Joe Eoff was the son of Joseph Montgomery Eoff and Etta Pearline Goates, both natives of Brown County, Texas. Herman was brother to Elva Doris (Eoff) Carver, Dorothy Ellen (Eoff) Pinson, Alma Pearl Eoff, James Andrew Eoff, Wanda Nell (Eoff) Wheeler and David Jackson Eoff. Herman's father farmed in Brown County, Texas.

Herman married Dorothy Ellen Pinson, the daughter of Zim Pinson and Mollie Wrenn, March 27, 1943 in Brown County, Texas. Herman and Dorothy resided in Blanket, Brownwood and Early, Texas and were the parents of Patricia Ann Eoff. Herman held the rank of sergeant in the U S Army.
