Private Thomas Epperson served in the American Revolution under Capt. Pleasant Henderson, attached to Col. Joseph Williams of Surry County Regiment. [2] He was living in Surry County, and then moved to Washington County. In 1780, he was a Private under Capt. Benjamin Clark and Col. Evan Shelby, Sr. In 1782, he was a Private under Capt. Amos Bird and Col. John Sevier. He service in the Wilkes County Regiment from 1779 to 1782.[3]
Private Thompson served in the American Revolution. First in VA Unit. In the Wilkes County North Carollina Regiment in 1780, a Private under Capt. Moses Guest and Col. Benjamin Cleveland. Moved back to VA. Born in 1757 in Albermarle, County, VA. [4]
<tab> "That he [Thompson Epperson] entered the service of United States in Albermarle County Virginia in the year 1777 under Captain Robert Harris, was marched to Williamsburg where he was placed under the Command of General Nelson [Thomas Nelson.] Thence we marched to Little Hampton; thence back to Albermarle & was discharged by Captain Harris for a tour of duty. he then removed to Wilkes County North Carolina & entered the service under Captain Moses Guess [Moses Guest] in the Horse Company & served from June 1780 until January 1781 & was at the Battle of King's Mountain [October 7, 1780]. Service with Captain Guest aforesaid six months and was dismissed I Captain guest.
<tab>In January 1781 he removed back to Virginia & in July 1781 he again entered the service in Albermarle County under Captain John Martin & was marched to Richmond Virginia and placed under the command of the Marquis of Lafayette, and was marched to the neighborhood of Williamsburg and was there discharged by Captain Martin & Colonel Richardson [probably Holt Richeson] for a tour of tow or three months, does not recollect which. He served two tours of duty in Virginia, but does not recollect whether they were two or three months tours consequently does not recollect whether altogether he served 10 months or one year.
Thompson resided in Wilkes North Carolina between the years 1784 to 1787[6]
Thompson is found in the Franklin, Georgia 1830 U.S. Census[7]
