Robert Purdy was born in 1921. He passed away in 2007.
Son of Dr. Carl Belton Epps and Mary Purdy.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served in during WW II in France and Germany. He attended Wofford College and the University of South Carolina where he played football and also played football in the Army. An avid football and baseball fan, he was inducted into the Sumter Hall of Fame.
Bob retired from DuPont. He was a member of Fellowship Outreach Missions Church.
Surviving are a daughter and three sons, a brother, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Carl "Bubba" Epps; and sister, Mary Purdy Epps.
