Genealogical Interests
Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating with cousins and anyone else with an interest in genealogy.
Here is my family tree.
It is easy to see why the vicissitudes, occurring in the progress of such a labor, should be highly exciting, as well as perplexing, and also, why it is, that a relish for it is sometimes acquired so ardent as to become almost a passion.

At times it feels like H.L. Mencken missed an opportunity to define genealogy as the study of how wishing makes things so, but I like that this website aims to prove his hypothetical quote completely wrong.

my name is Cristina Corbellani and I’m Team Leader for the Italian Diaspora section of the Italy project on Wikitree. You are receiving this email because you expressed an interest in the Italian Diaspora. The aim of this part of the project is to identify the migrant Italians to connect their families of origin in Italy with their descendants abroad. We have specific resources for this purpose which are explicited here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Italian_Roots_Diaspora. If you are new to Italian genealogy or are not familiar on how to trace a migrant ancestor, I’d like to invite you to join us the next September 30th to October 2nd. On those dates we will doing the Source-a-Thon as Team Italy, a friendly competition in which we locate sources for as many unsourced profiles as we can over an extended weekend. But the important thing is that, whether you join the competition officially or not, or if you are joining another team (which you can do here if you like: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1463120/register-now-for-the-2022-source-a-thon ), if you drop by on the #Italy channel on Discord you’ll find almost always during those days someone ready to help you with your research, translations or resources websites. Or you can just drop by to say hello! We always have great fun during these events. Hoping to hear back from you soon, best regards, Cristina.
This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.
Thanks and have a great day!
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand Pre-1700 Profiles. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines on that page.

Thanks, yes I did read that as well and totally agree. I don't actually plan on editing pre-1700 profiles any time soon though. Some of my Swedish ancestors are the closest to anything I feel confident about, but only back to about 1745, and I haven't started on them here yet. I just saw that page and thought it would be good to read it all and get the badge :-)
That sounds great! Good luck as you travel back in time. :-)
