Barbro Eriksdotter was born in Arbrå parish 5 October 1730. She was the daughter of soldier Erik Norström and his wife Brita (Andersdotter).[1]
In 1751 she had a son, Erik, with her betrothed, the reserve soldier Måns Andersson.[2] In 1752 we find fästekvinnan Barbro Ersdotter in Vallsta. (The record is of a type where children are not listed).[3] In 1753 we can see that Barbro and her son are in the same household as Barbro's mother, the soldier's widow Brita Andersdotter in Vallsta.[4] She leaves her son in Vallsta to go to work in Åkre 1759-1760 (those are the years that she is present at cathechism examinations in Åkre).[5]
Barbro Eriksdotter from Vallsta married soldier Erik Johansson Wikberg 1 June 1760.[6] They lived in Flästa.[7] Barbro had at least four children with Erik Wikberg.[8][9] Erik Wikberg was retired as a soldier in 1787.[10]
They went as settlers to Niarne (neighbours with Barbro's son Erik Magnusson).[11] Some time around 1791 Erik Wikberg is gone frome the book, sentenced to hard labour (at Carlsten fortress?). Barbro moves to Flästa[12] and then to Norränge, where she is noted as a widow.[13] She may have been transferred to Nianfors, when the chapel there was split off as a parish.[14]
