Biography
Russell Errett, born in 1817 in New York city, the son of Wicklow, Ireland immigrant Henry Errett and Sophia Kemmish, also of Ireland. [1] Russell's father died and his mother married second Robert Souter. [2]

Phebe S. Errett, widow died 8 May 1891 at her home near Mansfield, PA, in the 77th year of her age. [5]
From Genealogical and Personal History of Western Pennsylvania:
He married, June 8,1882. Kate Errett, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
daughter of Russell and Phoebe (Reeder) Errett, both of her parents
deceased. Russell Errett was editor of the Commercial Gazette, published
in Pittsburgh, prominent in the councils of the Republican party, and held membership in both branches of the state legislature.

Hon. Russell Errett was born in the
city of New York, Nov. 10, 1817.
He had
five brothers and one sister. Of these three of
the brothers, . Henry, Joseph and John, are
dead; the oldest, William, is still living at
Fort Laramie, Wyoming, and a younger
brother, Isaac, editor of the Christian standard,
at Cincinnati, died last year. His sister,
married to Joseph Johnson, is still living at
Hazelwood. His mother died at the advanced
age of eighty-three in 1877.
