Mats Andersson in Västanhed married Catrina Eriksdotter From Sörtulinge(?) 16 September 1700.[1] Mats should be one of the two sons living in the household of Anders Mattsson's widow in Västanhed 1700.[2] Indeed, in 1701 there is also a daughter-in-law in the household.[3] In 1703 the married son and his wife have left.[4]
Matts Andersson in Röle and his wife appear in the taxation record for Röle for the first time in 1703.[5] They are also in the household record for Röle.[6][7]
Children of Mats and Karin:
Jonas Persson from Tränmora and widow Karin Ersdotter from Rölö married 25 May 1721.[9] Where we find them in the last part of household record for Röle (up to 1734) she is entered as Catharina.[10] Children of Jonas and Karin:
Eventually we find Karin Ersdotter and her husband Jon Persson in Rölö in the household records for Gunnilbo parish.[11][12][13] There are several sons and daughters with spouses in the household in the early years - this will take some work to untangle.
After being widowed in 1752, Karin Ersdotter is in the household of her son, Jonas Jonsson. Her birth year is given as 1690 (which is very doubtful). She died in 1756 (there are no death records at this time).[14]
Research notes
Karin, daughter of Erik Larsson (and his wife Karin Hansdotter) in Brobo, was born 12 September 1689 (a year after the marriage of her parents).[15] In 1700 Karin lived in the household of her parents, Erik Larsson and Karin Hansdotter[16]
This Karin is too young to be the Catharina Ersdotter who was married to Mats Andersson in 1700. For this reason the birth year 1690 in the last household record is probably wrong. It does not seem as if Mats Andersson had two wives named Catharina Ersdotter.
