Birth & Baptism

Agnes was born on 24 March 1812 in Hampstead, Middlesex, England to parents Thomas Erskine and Sarah Buck. Agnes was baptised at St Mary, St Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, England on on 25 Nov 1812. She is baptised a second time at St George The Martyr, Southwark, London, England on 23 Nov 1817. She is baptised a third time at St George The Martyr, Queen Square, Holborn, Middlesex, England on 23 Jan 1818 with her brother Hampden.[1][2][3]

Emigration

Death & Burial

Agnes 80Y passed away on 17 May 1883. She is buried with her brother Erskine Thomas and his wife Apollonia at the Wakapuaka Cemetery in Nelson.

On 17th May, 1883, at the residence of her brother, Wakapuaka Road, Suburban North, Honble Agnes S. S. Erskine, of paralysis, aged 70 years. NELSON EVENING MAIL, VOLUME XVIII, ISSUE 116, 17 MAY 1883[5]

Gravestone Inscription: In loving memory of Major the Hon E. T. Erskine late 63rd Bengal Infantry died Jul 31st 1893 aged 86 years and of his wife Apollonia died Sept 26th 1904 aged 63 years also of his sister the Hon. Agnes Erskine died May 17th 1883 aged 70 years.

Underneath are the everlasting arms. Deut. XXXIII.27.[6]
