He moved with his parents to Illinois. They were at La Prairie, Marshall, Illinois in 1860 and 1870.[1][2]
He married Helen Mar Lyons in 1877 at Ford county, Illinois.[3]
They were in Pella, Ford, Illinois in 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920.[4][5][6][7]
He died in Piper City, Ford, Illinois in 1926.[8] His obituary, published in the Sept 9, 1926 Piper City (Illinois) Journal, noted that his wife Helen Lyons Erskine survived, as well as three sisters, Mrs. John King of Hoopeston, IL, Mrs. E. R. Lee of Sparland, IL, and Mrs. Eva Barnett of Clarinda, IA.[9] He was also noted as the oldest of a family of six children, that his family had moved to Peoria county in Illinois when he was an infant, then to Marshall county. He had moved to Piper City about 1874.
