By the death of Mr. George Erwin, which occurred in the Berry Hospital on Friday night, the Valley has lost another of its oldest residents. Born in County Fermanagh, Ireland, 63 years ago, the late Mr. Erwin came to this country with his parents in 1874, and settled in the Valley, residing here ever since. He, with his brothers and sisters, successfully engaged in farming on Brogher's Creek, retiring from active interest in it about two years ago, having built a comfortable home near by. He had been ailing for quite a while, but death came rather suddenly. He was unmarried, and leaves two brothers and five sisters to mourn the loss of an affectionate brother. The brothers are Messrs. Robert and John Erwin, and the sisters Mesdames Wm. Walker and W. S. Scott, Misses Susan, Elizabeth and Margaret Erwin, for whom sincere sympathy, is expressed. The funeral on Sunday afternoon was attended by a large concourse of relatives and friends, the remains being laid to rest in the Methodist portion of the Valley cemetery. Rev. F. H. McGowan (Methodist) conducted the service at the grave
