Biography

1881 Census ^[1] Has 38 year old unmarried Blacksmith James Milne living with his unmarried mother Mary Esson (70), Uncle Alexander Esson (60) - all born in Logie Coldtone and 11 year old cousin James Farqhuarson born in Aberdeen

There appear to be only four families of Esson having children Christened in Logie Coldstone between 1800 and 1825 plus 5 couples who only had one child. Only one of these families had both an Alexander and a Mary (in fact only one Mary) therefore I have attributed this Mary with a known sibling Alexander at about the right age gap (though they may have underestimated their ages by a few years) to Robert Esson and Betty Hunter
