I uploaded an image from a chancery case of Frederick Cox (married Milly, a daughter of Robert) vs. the executors of Robert Estes' estate. One of the depositions is from William White that includes two facts of relevance to this line:

(1) Mary, wife of Robert Estes, appears to have had the last name of White and was illegitimate. (2) Robert and Mary were married after both of his parents were dead.

"...the deponent further sayeth he was well acquainted with the father and mother of the last Robert Estes and that both of them was dead some years before the said Robert Estes was married to the said Milly's mother and clear [?] that nothing could fall to the said Milly from her mother's side as her said mother lived in the same house with this deponent and was reported to be illegitimate..."

Estes-178 and Estes-1315 appear to represent the same person because: Same mother, siblings, dates of birth & death. Looks like one of these records came up from the Barbara Brock side, the other from descendants of Elisha Estes
