Hi Rebeckah,

Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After adopting orphans FAQ to understand what to do next and it explains the special attention those profiles need. You may also want to go through the new member help on How to manage your Watchlist.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Hi, which families are you looking for in Salem, MA? We are connected by our early Estes ancestors. Richard Estes is my 7th great-grandfather through my 6th great-grandmother, Sarah Estes Pope. I don't know if I can be of any help but feel free to contact me, if you wish. Jennifer

hello cousin! I had found that some family lived in salem. Im interested in finding out if I have any relatives that lived there during the witch trials.. not necessarily major players in the events (which would be cool) but even to find out i had ancestors that were there when all that craziness was going on would still be very interesting

Hi Rebeckah,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Welcome to WikITree, Rebeckah!

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

Welcome Rebeckah,

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Wow!!! You're the 1,989th Estes to join Wikitree! With that many Estes' here I'm just betting there are some 'cousins' already profiled. I'm looking forward to reading about your ancestors.

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

See you in the branches --

Deborah Greeter from Georgia USA

I've always had an interest in history, especially my familys history because it's why I'm here and am the person I am. Hoping to put together information i already have in an organized way and maybe find more information

Welcome to the Wikitree Family, Rebeckah!

The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Research you’d like to share? Interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

  • When you confirm your email address, you’ll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message about your genealogical interests. A Greeters Project volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here.

Deborah, Greeter (from Georgia USA)
