According to the 1850 census Jemima, Archibald and family were living in Davie County, North Carolina, which was also Jemima's birthplace. Also in the family is seventy three year old Elizabeth Chaffin, born in Maryland. [2]
In 1880 sixty seven year old Jemima is recorded as being the mother-in-law in the home of L M Markland who is evidently husband of Jemima and Archibald's daughter Sallie. Facts also recorded are that she and both her parents were born in North Carolina.
