Biography

He married Catherine (Miller) Estes (1800-1876) in 1816 in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri.

He and Catherine were the parents of:

  1. Hezekiah Estes (1820-1901),
  2. Berzilus Estes (1822-1892),
  3. Joseph Hezekiah Estes (1828-1884),
  4. Marila (Estes) Iker (1828-1894),
  5. WIlliam Estes (1830-1898),
  6. Jefferson Boswell Estes (1834-1903),
  7. Mary Ann (Estes) Caldwell (1835-1910),
  8. Christopher C. Estes (1838-1855) and
  9. Cordelia (Estes) Green (1843-1879)

He also fathered several children with Catherine's sister Sophia Miller (1805-1887) Sophia was a deaf mute, never married but took care of her own business affairs and raised 11 children. Her father, John Miller (1757-1832) deeded land to her to raise her family.

John Green was born 2 Mar 1817. He cannot be the father of Joseph Hezekiah Estes, who was born in 1796.

Estes-2568 and Estes-2346 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same wife, same dates apart from birth year. One or the other of 1796 and 1786 is wrong.
