Thomas, son of Thomas Etheridge and Christian Marrington, was born about 1645 in Lower Norfolk County, Virginia (became Norfolk County in 1691).
On 4 March 1671 - "Thomas Everidge (sic) made a deed of gift of 200 acres to his sons John and Thomas Everidge, the land having been granted him on March 18, 1662/3 (Bk.E, P. 80).[1]
On the 1704 Quit Rent Rolls of Norfolk County, Virginia, several persons with the surname "Etherdge" can be found.[2] Since this Thomas' father died before 1704, it can be assumed that Thomas Etherdge, Sen., is this Thomas and Thomas Etherdge, Jun., is his son. Other Etherdges could be his brothers, sons or nephews. They have not all been identified specifically as yet.

Note: Further research is required to locate primary documents to satisfy Wikitree source standards for this info from MyHeritage. Some research documents are shown below.
It is not possible for the information on this profile to be accurate. The birth date and place of 1625 in Virginia do not fit with the possible marriage dates of Thomas Etheridge. The earliest possible marriage date known for him is 1626 in England and it is not confirmed that this marriage is his. Thomas did not arrive in Colony of Virginia until early 1640s, so could not have had a child there in 1625.
This Thomas Etheridge either needs to be unlinked as son of Thomas Etheridge or merged with the other son Thomas Etheridge (1645-1719) and the dates adjusted to match.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Etheridge-293 and Etheridge-142 appear to represent the same person because: Both are said to be sons of Thomas Etheridge-146. Birth/death dates differ by about 20+ years, but those for Etheridge-142 fit the documentation and should be used in the merged profile.
Shirley, you wrote the "Research Notes" section for this profile, in April. Now that the merge has been accomplished, what needs to happen to clean up this profile. Can the research section be removed? Should Eleanor Nicholas be merged into Eleanor Bright? They have the same dates of birth/death. Eleanor Nicholas has no children and I think was confused with Elizabeth Nicholas.
The research notes for Thomas can be removed if all agree on the appropriate birth dates, etc. More work needs to be done to determine his wife or wives. Was Thomas married once or twice? The two Eleanors at least should be merged. Since this is not my family, I've not done any research on his wives. What evidence is there for marriage/marriages or for his wife or wives surname(s)? It also seems to me that he has too many siblings and that should be looked at.
